Palazzo Cellamare

We designed a new layout and minimal refurbishment of a historical apartment in the centre of Napoli, Italy. The clients' requirement was to provide an optimised layout and programme of minimal refurbishment interventions for a prestigious apartment, set within a XIVth century building. The revised layout allows to take full advantage of the apartment's surface, gaining a fully independent bedroom with ensuite bathroom. Past interventions have been covered or underlined based on a thorough reflection of the both the spaces' and the clients' vocations.

All the distinctive decorative and spatial elements, including non original floors, were retained. Missing decorative elements such as the fire place were replicated in, neutral, white stucco, simply declaring the replacement. Minimal, dark grey metal sheets were cut to shape and installed in strategic points within the apartment.
